Some days

Morning all, Young Master Duke and I are in the garage behaving. At least we are trying. My husband is asleep. We’re making our noises out here so that we don’t wake him. It’s beyond time that I just work out here as much as possible.

I figure that if I don’t start, it’s not going to happen. Duke is upset that we had company, but he was whining too much, so I let him in the house while company was here. It’s just easier to have folks come unpestered. I’m not of the opinion that you must meet my dog if you visit. My job is to make sure that he is safe and comfortable. That means that he doesn’t always get what he wants. I know it is a sad thing, but it is what we have to work with.

The garage clean-out is on pace. I’m working on a task list, and I’m hoping that by having my desk up front by the garage door instead of by the back, it will encourage better movement on my part. Also, this is the part of the garage that is the most clear at the moment. As I redo things, I’ll see how it goes. Maybe by the time fall gets here I will move to the back of the area.

Still working on the grocery list. I know that the longer that I put it off, the worse it is going to be. The problem, negotiations are still ongoing. I want to make absolutely certain that the items we buy are exactly what we need. My friend should be available on Monday afternoon to help haul stuff in. I’m also hoping that by Monday most of the crud is cleared from the driveway.

With winter adding a bit more to the muck everyday yet, it’s a crap shoot.

That’s about all for today. Take care please. Gentle hugs, -L

The garage move… Finally

Morning all, hope you are well. Young Master Duke is sleeping so innocently in bed. He’s been out to sing the song of his people. My beloved is in the dining room ranting and raging. I’m going to let him. Not my circus, not my monkeys.

After the clicking of the keyboard set him off this morning, I’ve looked at the weather report. It looks like it will be in the 30’s over the weekend. I’m going to do some prep over the next 12 hours, and then I”m gonna start moving things in slowly to the garage.

The idea is that I can sit out there as is for now, and work my way up to having the office in there. For every box, tote or bag that goes in, 1-2 boxes totes or bags goes out. I can donate as much as possible to the mission thrift store, and what isn’t serviceable can go to the dump.

It’s going to have to just happen. The desk will be the last to move, if it actually does move. I’m at the point that I can’t deal right now. I spent another 25 dollars on headsets yesterday on my adventures. I just can’t keep living the way I am.

Now how to do this so I don’t set my husband off the rails? The man naps freaking often. He gets more sleep than I do. I’m going to sort and such in the dungeon while he is awake. Once he is asleep, I work in the garage. As I make room in the garage, more room will be available in the house.

The big thing will be moving the recliner back into the house if/when I do. That project might have to happen when I have help. Since this move is going to have to happen on my body’s whims, I don’t mind doing it piecemeal.

The treadle sewing machines, the bookshelves and the desk are the ones I have to have help for. I have a few friends who can come over and help with them. So, I’m excited. The neat thing? Camping prep will continue while I’m moving. Once the treadles and such are moved, I can fix tents.

That is about it. Huge hugs my friends. Take care. -L
