Morning hugs all, hope you are well. Young Master Duke is being goodest. I’m settled in at the keyboard, and I’ve been chasing my tail most days.
I promised in yesterday’s post to give you an uptick on my planner. I love journaling, and I really enjoy having an idea from one day to the next what’s going on. I used to bullet journal, but it was a waste of effort. Hundreds of hours working on spreads, when ticking off a reminder on my phone would and does work, just doesn’t make sense.
Yet, I have a physical planner. I still journal, and my favorite thing to do is carry my journal out and about in order to do my work. I prefer a5 size journals, and my recovery gift to myself was a set of journals to get through the rest of the year.
Now for the planner, I like the cheap a4 planners that fit in a 3 ring binder. I have some folders and dividers in order to keep my notes straight. While my service position does have a secretary, I prefer to take my own notes at meetings. As chair, sometimes I see things that she misses, and my notes supplement her work.
Other than that, I have the 3 ring binder purse. My pens have their own pouches, and I’m able to like I did this afternoon, pull into my driveway and grab my planner on answering a phone call. It’s so much easier than trying to remember crap from one day to the next.
The simplest version is just notebook paper with a date at the top of the page. That’s how bullet journaling started. I still do rapid logging to keep track of my day, but I don’t stress out anymore about spreads or other bullshit. I don’t have to carry hundreds of dollars worth of washi tape, or spend thousands on markers and stickers.
That’s about it. Huge hugs my friends. Take care. -L
