What am I reading?

Morning all, have been still working on getting better. I’ve spent time between naps either with the needles or a book. I often have a video or two playing. Then again, classical music is more often on the radio. I am determined to get through.

I re-read my favorite books, and like old friends, the characters come and tell me their stories. Some books I re-read so often I have to have them in both print and kindle. The print books just don’t survive well after the upteenth reread.

I make no secret that Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes is one of my favorite fictional characters. Around this time of year, the Hound of the Baskervilles is one of my favorite books to re-read.

However, this week, I’m re-reading Umberto Echo’s “The name of the Rose.” I first ran into Brother William of Baskerville in a film where he was portrayed by Sean Connery. When I found out it was a book, and eventually found the book 2nd hand at goodwill industries, I jumped on it.

Set in a time where death was around every corner, and the Inquisition could easily take you as the plague, the story of a library and the death surrounding it drew me in.

So, this year, to celebrate the dark holiday… I’m rereading “The name of the rose.”

Hope this year’s spooky season is fun and full of mischief. Take care my friends. -L
