I make no secret of the fact that I was hatched in 1972. Like my beloved Papa, I state that I was hatched. If you ever met the woman who gave birth to me, you would agree.
This morning’s music is an 80’s mix. I pay for youtube premium, and one of the perks in addition to not having to watch stupid ads is a music subscription. Everyone from Toto to Queen are included in today’s playlist.
Life is good enough that old music with it’s feel good beat works. I can dance from the chair, and on the worst pain days, I can close my eyes and dance in my mind.
Many hours have passed when I wanted to scream, that I just lay in bed with a book, some noise cancelling headphones, and good music. Last night it was bad enough that I kicked Duke out of the bed.
Little did I know that the first time I ever heard this music, it would be therapy for me in 40 years.
My brother and I played Monopoly, and Battleship. We would while away the hours reading the columbia house music ads, and quizz each other on the songs and artists. We’d play checkers, and card games as well.
We would reenact scenes from the Dukes of Hazard, and would have snow ball wars in the winter. Life was good.
That said, there is a new knitting book on the way. A friend tried it, and couldn’t make heads or tails of the work. I’m going to take a look and see what’s wrong with it. I have a variety of books on the topic, from the original “The principles of knitting” by Hiatt to a couple of reprints of knitting works from the 1800’s.
We won’t discuss the library of recovery or religious books. Not enough room here for that.
I suppose, I’d better get my tail in gear. I need to do the next right thing, and get back to stitching. Right now, “Gloria” is blasting through my headset with a a good beat. Take care. Hugs, -L
