My glasses

My glasses hide from me frequently. So when I find them, I have decided to document the results.
This is in just two days. My glasses are naughty.
Will let you know what mayhem they get up to later in the week.

The birds are up

Good morning again,
I’ve been distracted by Create on PBS this morning. There is an episode of Knitting Daily on right now. Kristen Amdahl is explaining a short row scarf. Normally I have to grab a set of needles and some yarn to get through the show. The problem I have this morning, is that I am too distracted by the Addi turbos she is knitting with today.
Now that’s sick. I recognize the brand of knitting needles the designer is using from the video.
I think that maybe I knit too much.
The birds are chirping for their breakfast, and it’s time to get busy. However, I’m really interested in the k10 p10 short row scarf they are working on. I’m thinking of looking up the pattern on the website… Something I rarely do… I’m not usually into looking up their patterns, but the technique really intrigues me this morning.
Maybe it’s at this point that I need to confess that the other day, I plugged in the television. I’ve been watching a bit of PBS during the day, with some Law & Order for dessert. We get farmer TV, but I’m good with that. I can get my Knitting Daily Jones on.
Now they are talking about singles yarn. I’m interested, as a spinner, but it’s not grabbing my attention the way it could. I’m more of a Navajo Ply girl than a knit with the singles girl.
Hmm, I’m not sure, but if I keep watching, I’m going to grab either a spindle or my spinning wheel here. This show is dangerous to my chores time.
I’d better get my tail in gear, or I’m going to be working with fiber today, and not getting my work done. I know, I keep on writing that, but I’m trying to avoid the urge to knit. Ugh, definitely need to get my arse in gear.
Have a great day. I’ll check in later.

I’m up early this morning

Good Morning,
The coffee pot is on, and the men are still in bed. That’s a good thing. It means that I can get my writing done, and I can get my morning chores done. I love my quiet time at the computer. Nothing can beat it.
So far this morning, the farm is quiet. The birds are in their nests, the skeeters are wherever they go, maybe a few flying bugs, but nowhere near what happens during the day.
The benefits of getting up this early?

  • I control the coffee pot. No one touches my coffee, and I can make it as strong as I need to.
  • I can watch TV. I control the remote.
  • I can fully wake up before I have to converse with anyone but God.
  • No one knocking at the bathroom door
  • The house is cool and quiet in the summer, warm and quiet in the winter.
  • I can sneak back into bed, with no one the wiser. 😉
There are more benefits, but the coffee isn’t quite ready yet. Let me get my coffee in me before I have to think.
Speaking of controlling the coffee pot. This morning is a blend of rich flavored beans, fresh ground and brewed lovingly in my french press pot. Ooh, very good!
My book, is coming along slowly this year. I still have a lot of rewriting to do. I set it aside in the last few weeks to focus on work that needed to be done. This morning, I’m tempted to sneak it out and get some clicking done on it. However, the house needs cleaning, the rummage sale stuff needs hauling out, and the dishes need doing.
At this point, we are full speed ahead towards rummage sale time. The next few days I will have to be up this early to get each day’s load out the door, tagged, and ready to go. Each day I also have to have the rabbits, the chickens, the dogs and the men taken care of. So, we will see how it will work.
I also have to get the sitting area moved to the deck, the deck cleaned, the plants planted, etc…
I suppose I shouldn’t be taking the time to write here, but I’ve noticed how truly grumpy I get when I don’t write. I’m a much nicer person when I do.
Last night, Hubby and I sat in the camper, I listened to the video he was watching for a couple of minutes. He thought I was angry with him. I just was reading some of my favorite blogs, and checking out face book. Keep in mind, he was watching videos on his cell phone. The screen is small enough that I just couldn’t see it. So, the movie, whichever one it was, just wasn’t big enough to hold my interest.
Bo and Beamer have Tim figured out. The have learned to pay him attention, and he will give them more treats than their Vet thinks they need.
I have some treats hidden by my desk, here in the house, so that he doesn’t give them all away.
Speaking of Hubby, he says that I snore. I say that he snores, but I don’t deny my snoring. The snoring wars have begun. We will see what happens. This morning, bladder pressure woke me, but I could distinctly hear him sawing logs as I grabbed the first cigarette of the day. I felt like recording the experience for posterity, but I thought against it. How would I explain the hand just dangling from the bunk? It looked creepy in the video screen, so I decided to just lay off a bit.
Meanwhile, I need another smoke break, and I probably had better get my tail to work. I’m thinking of doing another photo montage post during the day today, but we will have to see. I really don’t want to touch my phone much on a work day. My hands get really yucky, and I don’t think the chickens would appreciate an iPhone laying in their coop.
Have a good day.
