It’s been one of those days

I ran into a computer problem that was way out of my league. I called a friend, who sweetly offered to help, so I made a mad dash to their place.

The computer “fix” involved quite a bit of hurry up and wait time, but at this point, hopefully, it is complete. I’ve done all the last minute tweaks, that I can, and now I’m relaxing a little from the drive.

Our van does not have air conditioning, and driving in the late Summer heat was not pleasant. I was physically the quality of a used sweat sock by the time I go there. By the time I left, fear stink, and stress over the computer had taken over. I was not feeling too chipper when I got home.

Yet it was a very good day.

My geeky friend and his son saved the life of this evil hunk of metal and plastic that I’m typing on. My friend’s Mother was my Mother’s friend for years. She gave me a picture of my Mother when Mom was 16. It’s a treasure!

I heard stories about my family from well before I was born, and I got the opportunity to look at two crocheted items. The first, I’ve been asked to reproduce. Not a problem. The second, is an heirloom lace tablecloth. The stitches were done with a size 12 hook, and with crochet cotton thread. I’ve been asked to repair it. And I’m looking forward to the challenge. I marked the places that need repair, and I need to do some research before I attempt the project myself.

Yet before that, I need to get some projects done. I have a Birthday Present to make, and an afghan to get done. I have book marks, and other things to get done. This project, repairing the tablecloth, is one that is going to consume so much energy, that I want to have my queue completely cleared.

Meanwhile, I’m busy working on a few things with the laptop yet, and taking some last minute notes before I set up the recording equipment.

I’ll be back shortly.

Talk about morning jitters

Good Morning, yes, I know that it is 2 in the afternoon, but I’ve been a busy bee. I haven’t had time to greet you all properly, and I’m working on it.

That said, I’ve been aruging with computer equipment for most of the day. Chuckle, that don’t take much, and in fact, one of my favorite things to do is to argue with computer equipment. It must be why I do it so well and so often.

The dogs, and that cats have been fed, watered, and other chores done. Now, at long last, I have time to sit down and focus on the podcast. I’m recording the 2nd episode today. I have a few notes and some research to do before I accost you with another episode. But, I look forward to it. In the meantime, I’m working in the back ground. Just wanted to say “Hi”
